A Little Flower Power on Friday

PreviewPreviewPreviewPreview

Hello all!   There is power in a flower.  Power to heal, to make us smile!  Lots of lilies are blooming around Seattle.   The roses are in full bloom as well.  I love taking a little time to enjoy their splendor.  Here are a couple of flowers from my garden.             Maria

Daydreaming about my doors

Hello all!...I've been so busy lately but finally I've found a little time to make an entry.  This last week we replaced our windows and front door.  I had envisioned a window above our entry when we first bought this house about 22 years ago...now that dream is coming true...still need a little painting to finish it but it's happened.  The door has beveled glass with a little tulip and a matching side window....I smile each morning when I get up to see the view from the inside out as well as every time I come home to see the pretty doors from the outside walking in.  Later I'll have to share some photos of the view from the inside of the valley framed in that charming octagon....my new entry and windows are amazing.   It's true about that feng shui stuff...a wonderful entrance is a powerful tool to bring happiness....smiles to all of you!   Maria

Sandra Kuck - Painter of Children Angels

Preview Happy Sunday everyone!  It's gorgeous here in Seattle today...sun is shining and it's in the 70's.  Today is a great day to do a tribute to one of my favorite artists:  Sandra Kuck. She has a neat gallery as well - which you can see when you click on her name.  Little angels and wonderful quotes and sayings abound in this little book.  Here are just a couple of examples.  Enjoy.    Maria

Kirby- Lost Kitty

Kirby is a wonderful big and fluffy cat belonging to one of my best friends.  He turned up missing last week and still not found.  He liked to wander around the neighborhood and sometimes would walk into people's houses.  One time he wandered into a neighbors basement and they didn't find him for 5 days!  He would stretch his body in the most interesting positions....Still hoping to see him somewhere soon but it doesn't look too good...his collar was found on the sidewalk.  I'm thinking about you Kirby!

Space Needle Views

PreviewGood morning!  Here are a couple of views of the Space Needle from one of the marinas.  Seattle is full of boats.  Puget Sound is salt water.  Now you can see why our baseball team is aptly named the Mariners...:)  Maria

A Matter of Perspective

Hello all,

Good morning!  It's a little rainy and grey here in Seattle this morning.  I'm up pretty early for a Sunday morning.  Little things are a matter of perspective...sometimes it's good to have a bird's eye view, that's true.  In fact, it's important that you know how things fit in.  Close up views don't give you the whole picture.  But did you ever think that sometimes it just doesn't matter?  Sometimes it's the detail of the little things in the big picture that are the most beautiful..like the rose which blooms on an otherwise withering stalk.  I didn't have the heart to pull this little climber out of the ground when I saw some buds and I'm glad I didn't.  The little red flowers have a beauty that makes up for the rest and gives hope for the future.   For me it's a visual on the old saying...'bloom where you are planted'.   :)  Maria

Kitty Kitty, no Kitty

Sometimes kitty can be so oblivious.  Minka has very sharp claws.  She lives outside with her sister.  She is a really nice kitty most of the time.  Whenever she gets her claws caught in my clothes...well I have just never seen such hisses when I try to free her...I'm really not sure what to do but I sure miss her sitting in my lap...
