White Water Lilies

White waterlilies Haiku

White flowers floating, open
Green palms atop liquid
Calm, resting pond

A little pond just outside where I work was just bursting with white waterlilies the other day...couldn't resist taking a few pictures as I walked around it at lunchtime.

The 4th is coming!

I think 1-800-flowers.com is a great way to send some neat items to loved ones.  Although it costs more than I would have to make them for they are really worth it...take a look at these great ideas... if I had an endless budget I would definitely do this......   http://ww1.1800flowers.com    be sure to click on the Independance day button on the home page for the entire 4th collection.

Trip to Oklahoma

These are a few shots of my brother's pond in Sepulpa, Oklahoma. The shots were taken as we walked around the pond.  I had the pleasure of visiting him recently.  It's a serene scene.

Father's Day 2005

My dad taught me to love learning.  That is one of the greatest gifts (besides life and love)  that you can give anyone.  I love this picture because he is pointing in the distance and explaining something wonderful...I don't remember what but I have always loved this shot.  Probably this is where I began to love learning.   Happy Father's day to a great guy!

Thanks to John Scalzi again for a neat weekend photo assignment.  See others shots at: http://journals.aol.com/johnmscalzi/bytheway/entries/4281

Boats and water

Some water scenes from a recent walk I took around Shilshole Marina.  It was a quiet and peaceful kind of day. Got icecream after my walk but forgot to take pictures of that.  Would love to figure out how to do the grahics to make the water move...maybe one day.....:)

Iris Heaven

The Iris is a great flower, so Regal.  It's a beauty to behold and everyone that can should try to grow a few.  I need to replant mine as they have overgrown..these are from a neighbors back yard...small patch..less than 4 feet by 3 feet but what a show.

Adrenaline Junkies Satisfied

Although my husband would rather be driving we watched hydros race for a few hours on Sunday...these drivers are an epitomy of adrenaline junkies....in my opinion anyways..:)

Monday Scalzi Photo Shoot - RED

Here is the photo shoot for this Monday - TOPIC is RED!  I went with two types of tulips...the first are from the fields and are really bright red,  then my mom who wore red to be color coordinated and the lone Merry Widow Tulip that stands out in a sea of purple.   The last three are Red Apeldoorns...they look almost orange like a sunset...definitely have that poppy look about them...  Enjoy!   Here is a link to his assignment page where you can see a whole host of participants:  http://journals.aol.com/johnmscalzi/bytheway/entries/4258

Fawns

Here are a few of photos of some fawn that were so cute.  My sister-in-law in Oklahoma was caring for them while the owner was at work.  They are raising them for a reserve. It is a time of babies...late spring....

Dogwood Trees

The Dogwood Tree is blooming now.  Another wonder of whites and pinks against green.    Little things but wonderful to see...these trees are like the swans of the flower world to me...and I do love swans!

Is it a Tulip?

A Tulip in a tree against a clear blue sky! Yellow Cup!  A Surprise inside.   Amazing trees with flowers that look like tulips!  Seen along Lake Washington on a recent walk I had!   I think every day can be a celebration of life, beauty and joy.  Beautiful flowers on a beautiful day.  The wonder of nature and the joy of a new discovery.   I'd never seen trees like this before and yet here they were right in a park that I've visited many times before.  I feel a Haiku coming on...:
